COMPENSATION
Jennings American Legion Hospital pays competitively while continuously conducting multiple market studies in each area of employment. The overall compensation package may include any of the following.

GROUP HEALTH PLANS
Insurance selections are available to full-time, benefits employees and their eligible dependents effective on the 1st of the month after the first 30 days of employment. Enrollment is also available during the open enrollment period each year.

DENTAL AND VISION INSURANCE
Dental and vision insurance are available to all full time benefits employees. Insurance goes into effect on the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS
Employees may use flexible spending accounts to direct a portion of their pre-tax salary to pay for unreimbursed Medical, Dental and Dependant Care expenses. Unused contributions are forfeited each year.

RETIREMENT OPTION
401-K: Voluntary participation in a 401-K is available to all employees. 401-k is a tax-deferred investment that is paid by payroll deduction. JALH matches 100% on the 1st 3% elected; 50% on the next 2% elected. Employees are immediately 100% vested.

TIME OFF

Full Time Employees
PTO accruals are based on hours worked, up to 80 hours per pay period. Full time and part-time regular employees accrue up to 6.16 hours per pay period. PTO hours increase with years of service.
EIB accruals are based on hours worked, up to 80 hours per pay period. Full time and part time regular employees accrue up to 1.23 hours per pay period for the first 3 years of service.
Both PTO and EIB are eligible for use after 90 days introductory period, with approval of the supervisor.

CREDIT UNION
South Jennings Catholic Federal Credit Union offers a convenient method of saving money through payroll deduction in an interest bearing account, as well as offering low interest loans.

FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE (FMLA)
In accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, an eligible employee may be granted up to 12 weeks of family and medical leave during any 12-month period and up to 26 weeks of leave in any 12-month period in compliance with the expansion of FMLA under The Support for Injured Service-members Act of 2007.

To qualify, the employee must meet the following conditions:
  • employee must have worked for the employer for 12 months or 52 weeks. The 12 months or 52 weeks need not have been consecutive.
  • employee must have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12-month period immediately before the date when the leave is requested to begin
The type of leave covered is:
  • the birth of a child and in order to care for that child
  • the placement of a child for adoption or foster care and to care for the newly placed child
  • to care for a spouse, child or parent with a serious health condition
  • the serious health condition of the employee
  • a covered family member's active duty or call to active duty in the Armed Forces
  • to care for an injured or ill service-member
